This policy explains what personal information Safeguarding Assured by BVPSkills collects through this website, how it is used, and the rights you have. It is written to reflect the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who is responsible for your information
The data controller is Barbara Veeramallay-Permaul, trading as Safeguarding Assured by BVPSkills, registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). All questions about this policy or your information are handled by email, please contact bvpermaul@gmail.com and we will respond promptly.
To add when your confirmation arrives: your ICO registration reference (the "ZA" number). This is different from the application number shown at sign-up.
What we collect, and why
We only collect what we need:
- Enquiries. If you use the Get in Touch form, we collect your name, email address, organisation and message, so we can respond to you. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries, and your consent in submitting them.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe, we collect your name and email address to send you the newsletter. The lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email.
Please do not include sensitive or case-specific safeguarding information in the enquiry form. If a matter is confidential, we will arrange a secure way to discuss it.
The services we use
To run the website and communications we use trusted providers who act as our processors:
- Formspree delivers enquiry-form submissions to our inbox.
- MailerLite manages newsletter subscriptions and sending. MailerLite stores data within the EU.
- Calendly manages any call you book through the website, and adds it to our calendars.
We do not sell your information, and we share it only with these providers for the purposes above, or where the law requires.
Cookies
This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Pages embedding a third-party service (such as the newsletter sign-up) may set cookies necessary for that service to work. If we add website analytics in future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry correspondence only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and our ordinary business records. We keep newsletter details until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them.
Your rights
You have the right to access your information, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email bvpermaul@gmail.com.
If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
