Independence brings objectivity. As an external Designated Safeguarding Lead I can look honestly at your arrangements, evidence and culture without the constraints of an internal role, and give trustees, leaders and inspectors confidence that your safeguarding has been tested by a fresh, qualified eye. My focus is always on what needs to be done and how to get there, in a way that is practical and proportionate to your setting.

Both. I support Catholic religious congregations preparing for and responding to CSSA baseline audits, and schools and education settings preparing for Ofsted inspection under Keeping Children Safe in Education. The underlying discipline is the same, clear policy, good evidence and a lived safeguarding culture, and I tailor every engagement to your framework and context.

For religious life, the CSSA eight National Safeguarding Standards. For education, the Ofsted inspection framework in force from November 2025 and Keeping Children Safe in Education. I also work alongside the RLSS, LADOs, local authorities, children's social care and the Charity Commission as needed.

An Audit Sprint is intensive, focused support before or after an audit or inspection. Together we review your evidence, identify gaps, prioritise risk and build a clear action plan that leaders and trustees can actually use. It is designed to turn audit or inspection anxiety into calm, evidenced control.

Confidentiality is paramount and non-negotiable. All client and safeguarding material is treated as strictly confidential, and disclosure-sensitive information is handled with particular care. I never publish anything about your setting without your permission, and I do not identify individuals in any public material.

Yes. I am an experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead with more than twenty years protecting people across education, faith and mission settings. I hold an enhanced DBS, am registered with the ICO (ZC182781) and carry professional indemnity insurance, and I am a member of the Safeguarding Network and the National Association of Designated Safeguarding Leads.
